Our founder, Chris McCanles, worked his way up as an audio engineer, his only profession between high school graduation and the day he started Terra Nova. Along the way he worked in what was then still an industry largely in its infancy, with most solutions engineered by the people that designed and installed them, oftentimes having to rely on custom or modified products to meet its client’s needs.

Now, twenty years later, Terra Nova is an active player in a large and growing industry catering to a wide variety of organizations that rely on audiovisual, security, building automation and communication systems to function on a daily basis. We employ an in-house staff of designers, programmers, technicians and project managers to deliver the innovative solutions and hands-on service and support our business and residential customers have come to expect. Local ownership provides our customers with accountability and our owner and principals regularly engage with our customers to develop specific solutions to their challenges.
Terra Nova is the sole Wisconsin shareholder in Professional Systems Network International (PSNI), the oldest and most successful dealer group in our industry, representing nearly 7,000 employees, over $500 million in annual sales revenue, and a service area comprised of 60 major-market cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. In addition to a wealth of coaching and mentoring opportunities, PSNI affiliates provide each other with expanded manpower, expertise, and service capabilities. PSNI collaboratively services the technology needs of some of the largest organizations in North America.
